The school has developed a Buddy System which is a wonderful opportunity to build camaraderie between students as well as develop school spirit.

Teachers "buddy up" a primary student with an older student who takes the young one "under his/her wing".  Friday afternoons will find the buddies sprinkled throughout the school, spending time one-on-one, as they read (or tell) each other a story.

These buddy groups are also combined with others to make larger teams who compete to earn the most points throughout the year.  Points can be earned in various ways - by being the best decorated team on Super Hero Day or the most enthusiastic team or when playing cooperative games such as Capture the Flag or You're in my Backyard!

Buddies are a great way for the older student to develop leadership skills and for younger students to look up to them.
