Why an Endowment Fund?

Christian Schools are faced with a challenging future - diminishing enrollment due to demographics, rising tuition costs, uncertain economic times.  Agassiz Christian School is looking to the future - and with YOUR help, we would like to leave a legacy for our children, their children and the generations to come.

Perhaps you would like to leave a legacy that would see the money used over a period of years to come.  Endowment gifts provide that opportunity.

The specific goals for our endowment fund are:

• To help ensure Christian education remains affordable and accessible for all parents desiring a Christ-centered education for their children
• To support the long term growth of our school

What Kind of Gifts are we talking about?

Gifts can be large or small.  We can arrange a monthly donation plan or provide access to our Partners at Christian Stewardship Services whom offer free, no obligation estate planning visits at your home or office.  Advice is professional and impartial.

How does an Endowment work?

An endowment is given special treatment by Canada Revenue Agency - it is a permanent gift invested for a minimum of ten years.  The interest or income earned on that investment is used by the school each year.  With the principal staying intact, interest earned is used for specific purposes - like tuition assistance, or another purpose specified by a donor and agreed to by the school.  All income is tax exempt and is sent to the school twice each year in June and December.

 All donors receive a charitable tax receipt issued by Christian Stewardship Services of ACS, resulting in an approximate 45% tax credit.

Your gift is invested a minimum of ten years and ACS receives the interest from your gift over the next ten years, providing a steady and reliable source of income.

Your can designate a specific purpose for your gift - discuss it with ACS first!  Or deposit it into the general fund to make Christian Education affordable into the future.

Who Looks after the Fund?

The endowment gifts are administered by Christian Stewardship Services, a charity registered with CRA under BN# 10692 0309 RR0002.  CSS was established in 1976 to encourage gift planning and to provide advice and services to individuals and Christian ministries. Christian Stewardship Services partners with ACS through the Society for Christian Schools in BC (SCSBC)

What is the current state of ACS's Endowment Fund?

The Endowment Fund is started in 2008 and we are still getting word out that we have an Endowment Fund.  We would love to see some significant growth.  If this is something that you would like to be a part of, please contact the school office for more information.  Even a small  monthly donation to the Endowment Fund would add up over time and be of great benefit to the future of our children and grand children.
