For children in K-1, the best ‘homework’ is reading to your child, having them read to you, and playing games involving thinking. Beyond that, children can expect about 10 minutes per grade level.
Parents are requested to have a quiet place for the child to work and to ensure that there is time set aside for school work at home. Together, home and school can help students achieve their best.
Students in grades K-7 will use homework/school agenda books in order to help the student and parents know what school-related work needs to be completed outside of school time. Students are expected to take care of their agenda books. Each day the homework agenda book needs to be signed by a parent which indicates that the parent is aware of what the student needs to do in order to meet class/grade requirements. Forgetting agendas at school, forgetting homework at home or incomplete homework assignments may result in the student having to forfeit recess or playtime in order to complete the necessary assignments.
Teachers will also be regularly updating homework on the website. Please encourage your child to refer to this link.
