Research has shown that music helps a child's overall development in the following ways:

- Language and literacy skills

- Social and emotional development

- Mathematics and pattern recognition

We are very pleased to offer a music curriculum at ACS.  Children are introduced to music beginning already in Kindergarten by a music specialist.  The program includes listening, movement, instruments, singing, theory, history and more.

By the time, students are in Grade 3, they are ready to learn how to play recorders.  They continue that study in Grade 4, when they start playing different types of recorders and become more adept at playing in ensembles.
